Glucosamine
For Bones and Joints
Glucosamine Sulfate is a functional form of glucose (sugar) and the amino acid, glutamine. It is a major building block of proteoglycans, the long molecules weaving through collagen fibers and binding to water to lubricate and absorb shock in the joints. It is also a constituent of the mucopolysaccharides providing structure to our shin, nails and cartilage.
When cartilage and proteoglycans are damaged from trauma due to sports injuries, obesity, hereditary factors or degeneration from age, the building materials need to be replaced. Supplementing the diet with Glucosamine Sulfate may do just that . It rebuilds the water-holders in the cartilage matrix and stimulates production of chondrocytes. The more glucosamine available, the more proteoglycans and the more water available for the joint. This means better lubrication, movement and flexibility, and less pain. agent.
